Keep buildings and facilities in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning debris from sidewalk.

Our EVS Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of secured environments, such as the Monterey County Sheriff Offices, Jail, Juvenile and Probation facilities. The job involves physical demands, including significant walking between control towers (multiple) and climbing stairs to reach each tower.

• Position: Environmental Services (EVS) Technician
• Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning, mopping, and sanitizing administrative offices, staff rooms, conference rooms, toilets, showers, and locker rooms
  • Cleaning glass and windows, windowsills, window treatments, walls, and furniture
  • Performing special cleaning of rooms, disinfecting walls, floors, and furnishings
  • Cleaning guard stations, halls, lobbies, stairs, recreation areas, lounges, and dining areas
• Locations: Monterey County Sheriff Offices and Jail, Salinas, Castroville
• Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience in janitorial/environmental services
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent English language skills; Spanish language skills are desired but not required
  • Ability to pass a background check
• Preferred but not required: candidates with military, law enforcement, or security training
