DeVine Consulting, Inc. Scientific Programmer, Secret clearance in Monterey, California

  DeVine provides technical and scientific support to government clients in Oceanography & Atmospheric Science among other technical disciplines. 

Our company is looking for a Scientific Programmer to join DeVine in a full time capacity. This position will be supporting a government customer, hence only US Citizens may be considered. 

DeVine contributes to projects in data modeling, remote sensing & machine learning.  We collaborate with our clients in scientific analysis of the Earth’s atmosphere & ocean and land surfaces, as well as astronomy and astrometry. We help our clients test and operate space-based, air-based, subsurface, and land and ocean surface-based sensors.  Remotely working candidates may be considered if they match most of the required and desired experience.

Requirements and preferred experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required: Master's or higher a plus

  • 4+ years relevant professional experience preferred

  • Must be fluent with two or more of the following software programming languages: Python, C++, Java, FORTRAN, C, or similar

  • Experience with image processing and modeling algorithms a plus

  • Must have programmed in a Linux/Unix environment within an academic or professional setting

  • Programming experience in an HPC environment preferred 

  • Current Secret clearance or higher required

  • Compensation: $94K to $119K per year salary range DOE and skills
