Naval Supply Systems Command SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Monterey, California

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MGMT SPECIALIST located with NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center San Diego in Monterey, CA. Responsibilities You will be responsible for all supply support to include receiving/issue warehouse operations, transportation, HAZMAT support, and mail handling. You will be responsible for analysis, management and administration of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment to provide supply operations. You will provide technical and administrative direction and guidance to subordinates. You will be responsible for safeguarding funds, property, and other assets against waste, loss, and unauthorized use or misappropriation. You will analyze and direct actions designed to solve internal supply operating problems. You will be responsible for determining resource needs, allocation of resources and accounts for their effective use. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Supply Management experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of supply, supply programs and logistics services in support of customers and installations. Experience must also include a comprehensive knowledge of receiving/warehousing, inventory management, project management, and / or process improvement. Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in leading and/or mentoring lower-level employees in daily supply and logistics operations. Examples of specialized experience include: 1)Oversight of material management, transportation, official mail, and/or HAZMAT operation; 2) Managing multiple customers and competing requirements while promoting a positive customer relationship; 3) Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of supply operations; 4) Analyzing and resolving difficult issues and problems in the assigned area of responsibility such as supply processed, work methods, supply data management, or day-to-day operations.; and 5) Mentoring lower-level employees in the day-to-day supply and logistics operations. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
