We remain committed to | | complete compliance with all policies and procedures essential to the | | success of each project-large, small and everything in between. | | | | Job descriptions: | | SDAC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator responsible for operating | | dozers and other heavy equipment to complete finish and fine grading | | tasks in accordance with project specifications. This includes | | grading precise elevations, slopes, and contours. The Heavy Equipment | | Operator must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently in | | a variety of conditions, including challenging terrain. | | | | Responsibilities: | | | | - Operate a dozer and other heavy or grading equipment to complete | | finish and fine grading tasks. | | - Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, | | skill and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain | | environments. | | - Familiar with low-grade utilities such as water lines, sewer | | systems, electrical conduits, and telecommunication cables. | | - Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and | | directed by management. | | - Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate | | documentation in compliance with company policies. | | - Work closely with the Construction Superintendent to ensure that | | all grading requirements are met. | | - Communicate effectively with other members of the construction | | team. | | - Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / | | Environmental regulations f r safe working procedures and | | environment. | | - Required: | | - Uncompromising focus on safety excellence. | | - Minimum 3-5 years of finish and fine grading experience while | | operating a D6, D8, or similar mid to large-size dozer is | | required. | | - Ability to utilize GPS for grading applications - preferred. | | - Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction | | equipment is preferred. | | - Previous experience operating a motor grader is a plus. | | - Strong math and spatial reasoning skills. | | - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. | | - Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. | | - Benefits: | | - Medical | | - Dental | | - Vision | | - 401k | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
