As a National Laboratory, we offer a unique blend of opportunities for the exceptional candidate. This position’s focus encompasses the design, development, implementation, maintenance, operation, and support of PNNL’s worldclass laboratory implementation of IBM Maximo and supporting systems. Your work will include maintaining and operating existing business applications, partnering with domain experts and users to define, build and deliver innovative software solutions to complex business and scientific problems. As a member of a stable delivery team, you are expected to develop knowledge of the goals of projects or clients you are supporting – and maintain a customer service focus commensurate with this position.
Responsibilities
As a key contributor to our team, you will leverage your expertise in IBM Maximo technology to develop, customize, and enhance applications that align with our evolving business needs, ensuring high-quality code and seamless performance. You will integrate Maximo with other enterprise systems to streamline operations across the organization, providing continual technical support and troubleshooting to maintain optimal system performance. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will transform insights into strategic and effective software solutions, staying current with the latest Maximo technologies to continuously improve processes and product features. Your role will involve creating and maintaining relevant documentation, working with cross-functional teams to identify and implement enhancements, and leading projects based on thorough analysis of requirements. In addition to training and supporting end-users, you will design robust networks and systems using engineering and technical principles. You will also ensure optimal performance and security by analyzing, installing, integrating, modifying, and supporting the associated systems and databases. By combining your technical proficiency with a proactive, collaborative approach, you will drive significant enhancements to our robust Maximo landscape.
Key responsibilities:
Design, develop and configure new solutions to support the platform.
Utilize software engineering best practices through the entire software development lifecycle and recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
Collaborate effectively on diverse teams (e.g., Project Managers, User Domain Experts, Software Engineering Team) to design and deploy innovative business capabilities across the laboratory, to be used by Researchers, Administrators, Managers, Executives, etc.
Work collaboratively as part of an agile development team that delivers incremental features to a wide range of products.
Assimilate knowledge quickly in a variety of business domains.
Continuously scan the software development landscape for new technologies and methods to achieve results and that can be incorporated into the enterprise.
Enhance personal technical and professional skills through active mentoring and training.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience -OR-
PhD and 1 year of relevant experience -OR-
AA and 14 years of relevant experience -OR-
HS/GED and 16 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated experience applying theoretical/fundamental computer science concepts through the design, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of computer infrastructure and networks
Preferred Qualifications:
Development experience Maximo 7.6.x
Development experience with Maximo Asset Suite
Extensive experience writing Maximo Automation Scripts
Extensive experience with Maximo Integrations and OSLC REST APIs
Significant experience in core Maximo apps such as Workflow Designer, Application Designer, and Migration Manager
Experience writing SQL queries against the Maximo data model.
Experience in the development of complex software systems using industry best practices.
Exceptional communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to think strategically to deliver innovative solutions.
Deliver results with the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
