Position Description:

The Scheduling Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, updating and reporting of project construction schedule(s). They are responsible for facilitating schedule communication between all internal stakeholders assigned to the project and may act as the liaison for the owner’s scheduler.

Position Qualifications:

  • A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.

  • 5-7 years of scheduling experience on large commercial construction projects.

  • Experience managing and leading team.

  • Expertise in leading software tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera (P6 and/or OPC) and ASTA, Resource Loading, Histograms, and Activity Coding.

  • Significant knowledge of construction to allow for proper sequence development and logic changes.

  • Proficiency in developing, resource loading, analyzing, and reporting on project schedules. This includes an understanding of scheduling analytics and continuous improvement strategies.

  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Critical Path Method (CPM), Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and work breakdown structures (WBS) methodologies, principles, and applications.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Experience with Federal Project contracts/scheduling.

  • Can effectively organize the day based around changing priorities and tasks.

  • Able to make quick decisions based on accurate analyses.

Essential Duties:

  • Utilize earned value management principles and experience to facilitate development of the project schedule, develop work breakdown structures, evaluate the performance of the project and analyze budget and/or resource variances from the baseline plan.

  • Review all schedule specifications for development and implementation of schedule to include proper sequence development and logic changes. Develop schedule fragments for project impacts and identify required continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.

  • Prepare schedule activity status, reporting and narrative for project management and owner. This includes verifying and managing project log schedule information. Perform schedule analytics such as:

  • Basic schedule quality

  • Schedule performance as compared to monthly baseline.

  • “What if” scenarios

  • Impacts and delays.

  • Transmittal and delivery coordination

  • Facilitate weekly trade partner schedule meeting to discuss changes, upcoming work and progress.
