Dixie Electric, Plumbing, & Air Technical Support Representative in Montgomery, Alabama

Since 1908, our family-owned business has earned a reputation for quality work and unmatched customer focus. We are growing and looking for a full-time Technical Support Representative with integrity and professionalism to join our team in Montgomery, Alabama.

Who You are:

The Technical Support Representative will provide technical assistance and answers to users’ questions, assisting users by troubleshooting problems with computer hardware or software.

What You will be responsible for:

  • Purchase, deploy, update, and troubleshoot mobile devices and software (Apple and Android)

  • Purchase, deploy, update, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software (Windows)

  • Maintain and configure servers (physical and virtual) hardware and software

  • Perform administrator duties on multiple software platforms, including adding and removing users, managing permissions, etc.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve user’s problems with computer and mobile device software and hardware.

  • Purchase, install, and maintain networking equipment such as firewalls, switches, and access points.

  • Perform periodic networking maintenance, including pulling and terminating ethernet cable, building network racks, etc.

  • Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems.

  • Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Professional and pleasant telephone manner.

  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees and customers. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.

  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen

  • Must be able to travel to other offices as needed.
