In this position...

We are seeking experienced human factors engineer that can define attribute system requirements at early planning stages and throughout development cycles for both program and component delivery. Serve as liaison with Digital Product Design to ensure integrated and aligned delivery of ergonomic principles. Define requirements’ applicability and boundaries considering digital platforms and their implementation across multiple vehicle platforms. Lead and accelerate attribute solutions for all of Ford and Lincoln products to improve end-user satisfaction.

  • Conduct global benchmarking analyses to improve interaction and ergonomics features for our products.

  • Analyze end-user experience needs and translate them into engineering parameters to ensure design proposals will satisfy the customer.

  • Develop appropriate engineering parameters and design proposals.

  • Examine systems designs for compatibility with end-user experience, attribute targets, corporate requirements, service and assembly.

  • Develop solutions for delivery delays across multiple functions including Corporate Design, Vehicle Engineering, Vehicle Operations and Design and Release Engineering.

  • Conduct global benchmarking analyses to improve Experience, Interaction and Ergonomics features for our products. Serve as central lead to deliver specific attribute needs on program teams.

  • Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, Human Factors, or a related field.

  • 10 +years of experience analyzing vehicle interior designs using Digital or Virtual evaluation.

  • 10 + years of experience evaluating and creating 3D component and interior data using CAD software such as CATIA or utilizing Human Factors modeling software such as JACK and RAMSIS.

  • 10 + years of experience creating surveys for external customer research to define customer ergonomic needs.

  • 7 + years of experience conducting customer clinics to evaluate ergonomics features and improvements.

  • 7 + years of experience creating rapid prototypes of designs for customer evaluation, creating design proposals for customer storage solutions in CAD and conducting benchmarking of competition including statistical analysis of key parameters.

This position is a salary grade 8.
