SMX is currently seeking a Security Specialist to support multiple FCLs to maintain a strong security program to ensure compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM, and other Government Regulations for the protection of national security information. Proficiency with personnel and physical security and the ability to develop, interpret, and implement security plans, policies, and processes for effective operations is required. This is a hybrid position where remote work is authorized and presence in the office is required at times for physical security tasking and team support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Security Specialist will serve as a Security lead for multiple divisions and will be a resource for Program Managers and employees. The successful candidate will:
Process personnel clearances utilizing DISS, NBIS, and other applicable government systems
Verify clearances for new hires utilizing DISS and other agency resources
Conduct, track, and monitor trainings and briefings
Prepare and review DD254s
Perform security program self-inspections
Participate in and assist with DCSA Inspections and Assessments
Provide program security support as needed
Process visits through DISS and ACCS
Process SCI nomination packages
Assist with safe management to include content accountability and combination administration
Serve as Alternate COMSEC Manager and perform inventory, accountability, safeguarding, and shipping tasks
Process and manage CAC and System Access Request applications
Process Service Now tickets as assigned to include, but not limited to, foreign travel, clearance requests, and visits
Monitor and process new hires and terminations to ensure clearances are established and/or separated in a timely manner
Investigate security incidents, write incident reports, and work with the VP of Security to determine incident classification and remedial actions
Establish and maintain access and accounts at secure locations to ensure client contact on secure programs
Must be a US citizen and must have an active Top-Secret clearance with capability of obtaining SCI eligibility.
Required Skills/Experience
Familiar with the 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM
Clearance Required: DoD Active Top-Secret
Experienced with DISS, NBIS, e-APP, SWFT, and NISS.
Ability to successfully build government and internal professional relationships, to include clients, management, and employees.
Must be professional, approachable, and have discretion to protect confidential and sensitive information
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient with MS Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Desired Skills/Experience
Knowledge and experience with ACCS and SPOT systems a plus.
Completion of the DCSA and CDSE Facility Security Officer (FSO) Program Management for Possessing Facilities Course
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years Security experience
Experience with the Intelligence Community a plus.

The proposed salary for this position is:
$90,900—$151,500 USD
