DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the maintenance program for highway equipment within a County Maintenance Organization. Your duties will encompass analyzing and developing the fleet model and budget for the County, as well as managing the maintenance, repair, and dispatch of a diverse fleet that includes heavy construction and automotive equipment. You will supervise the equipment repair facilities and the personnel associated with them, ensuring that the building, grounds, stockpiles, and other facilities used for equipment storage and maintenance are well-maintained. Additionally, you will provide direct supervision to mechanic supervisors and support staff in the office, shop, and storeroom.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Schedule is subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts - 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. *  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY*

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Highway Equipment Manager 1; or Three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines and other components of heavy highway maintenance and construction vehicles and equipment including two years of such experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License Class B or Class A that is not under suspension, with Air Brake Restriction (L) removed. This position requires possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification.

Post-Employment Requirement: Must obtain incidental use certificate.
