Sharp Electronics Corporation Retail Merchandiser Specialist in Montvale, New Jersey

Overview

As a Sharp Retail Merchandiser Specialist in the Greater NYC Area, you'll embody a dynamic role that merges brand ambassadorship, product expertise, passionate education, and valuable market intelligence. You'll optimize Sharp's retail presence by curating eye-catching product displays that captivate customers and empowering sales associates with comprehensive product knowledge, ensuring they can confidently and enthusiastically convey the advantages of Sharp's cutting-edge products. This multifaceted approach not only maximizes sales potential but also strengthens Sharp's brand image in the competitive retail landscape. While the position is remote-based, 75%-80% of your time is expected to be in-field visiting retail showrooms with occasional overnight stays. The remaining 20%-25% of your time will be spent recapping store visits.

Responsibilities

Merchandising Excellence:

  • Visit assigned retail stores such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, PC Richard, and independent dealers to implement and maintain visually stunning Sharp product displays that capture customer attention and drive sales.

  • Ensure planogram compliance and optimal product placement for maximum visibility and brand impact.

  • Identify and address any merchandising issues promptly to maintain a consistently polished in-store presence.

Training & Education:

  • Deliver engaging and informative product training sessions to retail sales associates, empowering them with in-depth knowledge of Sharp’s latest technology and features.

  • Conduct interactive demonstrations to showcase the unique selling points of our products and their benefits to customers.

  • Build strong relationships with store personnel, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes Sharp’s brand values.

Sales Support:

  • Attend and present at channel trade shows and independent VIP events to drive new sales opportunities.

  • Partner with retail sales associates to understand their needs and provide ongoing support to enhance their selling skills and confidence.

  • Share valuable insights on product performance, customer preferences, and emerging trends to help drive sales growth.

  • Collaborate with store managers to develop and implement sales strategies that maximize Sharp’s market share.

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Gather and report on competitor product offerings, pricing, promotions, and in-store activities to inform Sharp sales and marketing strategies.

  • Identify potential opportunities for product enhancements or new product development based on market observations.

  • Proactively suggest product recommendations to retail partners based on customer feedback and sales data.

Reporting:

  • Submit detailed store visit recaps, including photos, documenting merchandising compliance, training outcomes, competitive observations, and any identified opportunities or concerns.

  • Utilize Sharp’s reporting tools to provide timely and accurate data on store visits, ensuring HQ has a clear picture of the retail landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields related to marketing or business management preferred.

  • 0-4 years’ selling experience.

  • Consumer Electronics, Home Appliance selling experience ideal.

  • Self-starter with superior time management, detail orientation and organization skills.

  • Passion for Technology: A genuine enthusiasm for Sharp’s innovative products and a desire to share that excitement with others.

  • Retail Experience: Previous experience in retail merchandising, sales, or customer service is a plus.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.

  • Interpersonal Savvy: A natural ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds, fostering positive relationships.

  • Adaptability: A willingness to embrace change and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Analytical Skills: The ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making.

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.

  • TRAVEL: Up to 80% travel, domestic.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $45,000-84,900. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
