This position also assists, under broad supervision, in tasks related to sterilization, if applicable. The Microbiologist ensures with broad support from the supervisor compliance to the applicable FDA (QSR) regulations, Canadian Medical Device Regulation (CMDR), Medical Device Directive (MDD), ISO 13485 as well as other applicable Sterilization regulations e.g. ISO standards, AAMI standards/reports and guidance documents as required. Location: Onsite in Monument, CO Position duties and responsibilities: Under broad supervision establishes and maintains procedures, tools and methodologies to cover the Jabil contamination control program (clean room monitoring, water monitoring, compressed air monitoring) Under broad supervision performs the required product monitoring activities (e.g. bioburden, dose audit) Provides guidance and training to personnel to ensure contamination control requirements, good manufacturing and good documentation practices are met Under broad supervision performs compliance tasks (e.g. nonconformities) and supports internal and external audits (TUV, FDA, CFDA, etc.) Under broad supervision provides input on design of manufacturing processes, controlled environments, processed water systems and product cleaning processes, to ensure their efficacy, for obtaining clean and safe products Under broad supervision performs validation of processed Water, controlled environment, and product cleaning processes Under broad supervision evaluates changes in the manufacturing processes (i.e internal process changes, external process changes, product transfers, etc.) Work with the management to establish plant specific environmental monitoring requirements Under broad supervision conducts sterilization validations in agreement with customer and according to applicable ISO standard, and establishes/maintainsthe bioburden and dose audit programs Under broad supervision provides input for risk assessments from a contamination control perspective Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by manager May conduct technical assessments and support audits as Subject Matter Expert for contract laboratories and critical suppliers Maintain knowledge of FDA & ISO Environmental Monitoring and Product Cleanliness guidelines, as applicable Strong oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Reliable, thorough, meticulous, sense of urgency and goal oriented This position requires flexibility and the ability to work in cross-functional groups and to be team oriented This position requires the ability to interact with managers as well as manufacturing personnel Fluency in English required Required to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend over, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in microbiology/biology or equivalent Experience: At least 2 year's work experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry is a must Experience in environmental monitoring programs and investigations is required Experience with sterilization of medical devices an advantage The pay range for this role is $65,507 - $117,913. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and e perience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
