Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry, based in Northern, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial aspects of our operation, including the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, and month-end close. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes

• Handle financial reporting, AP, credit collections, e-commerce accounts, and chargebacks

• Conduct monthly close procedures, journal entries, and financial statement preparation

• Monitor and manage automated AP system, ensuring efficient process and exchanges

• Act as a liaison between the Accounting and Sales departments, auditing a commissions report monthly

• Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff as needed

• Manage access to bank and payroll, maintaining confidentiality and security

• Oversee the filing of sales tax monthly, working with third-party software for month-end journal entries

• Handle credit holds, research, and cases assigned to accounting debt

• Oversee debt expectations, accounts payable, credit, and other related tasks.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related accounting role within the Light Manufacturing industry

• Demonstrate expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Proficient in conducting auditing tasks, handling billing functions, and carrying out month-end close procedures

• Exhibit strong skills in Financial Statement Preparation and Journal Entries

• Experienced in Account Reconciliation and able to resolve any discrepancies in financial reports

• Proficiency in using SAP B1 - Business One software for accounting purposes

• Possess a professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, etc.) would be advantageous

• Excellent communication skills to present financial information clearly to non-finance personnel

• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data

• High degree of professionalism and ethics, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
