Lowe's Manager, Category & Promo Planning - In Office in Mooresville, North Carolina

Your Impact

The Manager of Category Marketing and Promo Planning will work with Merchandising VP's to plan innovative category strategies designed to grow profitable share and improve Lowe's overall value perception. This position will drive the development and planning of differentiating messaging and promo strategies for prioritized DIY and Pro customer segments by leveraging consumer insights and a deep understanding of the competitive landscape. The Manager of Category and Promo Planning will serve as a COE for an assigned business area, integrate category expertise across all pillars of the brand strategy and serve as a single point of contact for key leaders within the marketing, merchandising and operations organizations. This position will partner with small vendors to harmonize GTM plans. The Manager will run a small team and will be responsible for providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to help them achieve their best. To be successful, this role will build, sustain and influence leaders within the Merchandising organization and will communicate regular status updates.

What you will do

  • Leads 2-3 associate marketers who work closely with cross functional partners, business owners, and other key stakeholders to develop highly effective marketing strategies, tactics and action plans that meet business objectives.

  • Analyze/interpret data to draw clear, actionable conclusions that influence program development; create growth supported by fact-based business cases in partnership with Merchandising.

  • Works with Sr. Manager and other key marketing leaders to establish the annual marketing calendar that will drive category sales and build the brand – manages the development of the category library and serves as the integrator across marketing and broader organization.

  • Builds messaging and promotional strategies with merchants and pricing partners, based on strong understanding of customer value, economics and competitive actions. Ensures consistent delivery across all customer facing touch points in store and online.

  • Builds promotional plans with pricing partners and merchants, based on strong understanding of customer value, economics and competitive actions and execute across channels.

  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ID product launches, product growth opportunities and manage most advertised items lists for DIY and Pro.

  • Partner with key merchandising partners to ensure specific visual merchandising support plans align to in-store experiences to overall marketing experiences.

  • Leverage data to identify actionable insights that inform go to market plans.

  • Manages planning conversations with smaller external vendors and LORMIN and will be the subject matter expert in their vertical.

  • This position manages/supervises people

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing or relevant field

  • 5-7 Years Marketing experience

  • 3-5 Years Brand or integrated marketing leadership experience for consumer brands or retailer

  • 1-2 Years Running a P&L and/or working alongside P&L owners

  • 1-2 Years Working cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 Years Leading brand or category work at a retailer or CPG company
