WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A POWERTRAIN DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

  • Responsible for engine specification definition wrt performance, durability, and setting technical direction of the development of the programs.
  • Lead development of the base engine and engine system components (cylinder block/head, valvetrain, cranktrain, cooling, lubrication, fuel, exhaust, and induction).
  • Coordinate the program tasks with design, test, and simulation departments.
  • Collaborate with Ford Motor Company/Ford Performance to design and develop the specified program powertrains.
  • Work with internal and external suppliersin a technical partnership to develop new components.
  • Maintain program documentation including:
  • Reduction and analysis of engine/vehicle data
  • Author/approve technical reports
  • Develop and present technical overviews to leadership for program milestones and gateways.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Ten year's experience in engine research, design and development, or other related product development.
  • Previous experience managing high-performance engine design and development programs.
  • Previous technical project management experience in establishing program goals, budgets, scheduling, testing, and implementing high-performance racing products.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to describe and present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under minimal supervision.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and the ability to learn and use internal software applications.
  • For ITAR compliance, all employees at this location must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
