Description The College of Applied Human Sciences at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Director of the WVU Nursery School. About the Opportunity This position will serve as the Director of the WVU Nursery School. The Director oversees and supports all daily operations of the WVU Nursery School by providing leadership, administrative oversight, and by providing classroom instruction. Wellness programs What you'll do: Oversee and support all daily operations of the WVU Nursery School; WVU NS). Provide leadership and administrative oversight of the WVU NS. Serve as a classroom instructor, alongside NS instructional staff, in PreK and/or Pre-school classroom. Supervise NS teachers and staff and ensure quality Pre-K instruction is planned and provided across all classes. Ensure compliance with all essential standards and regulations for State Pre-K classrooms. This includes administrative reporting and facilitation of on-site inspections related to WV Department of Health and Human Resources regulations and Policy 2525 (universal Pre-K) and coordination with Monongalia County School Board personnel. Maintain the WVU NS to serve as a clinical placement site for WVU students. Monitor all incoming WVU NS student placements from disciplines across WVU. Collaborate with School of Education faculty to serve as the lead teacher for all WVU students doing clinical placements, assistantships, internships, and/or observations at the NS. Conduct educational testing (ECERS, ELLCO, ELS, etc.) and observation of children as required. Oversight of the Nursery School budget in collaboration with the Director of the WVU School of Education. Oversee financial operations of the WVU NS including (but not limited to): maintaining the WVU NS eCommerce Store to receive WVU NS tuition, following University guidelines for submitting timely PCard purchase reconciliations, performing a monthly reconciliation between TouchNet and MAP, following university procedures to deposit checks received, etc.. Ensure development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEP's) for students with special needs at WVU NS. Participate in IEP team meetings to give input on children as needed. Oversee facilities management to ensure WVU NS meet all safety, health, and workplace requirements.
