This position is part of the multi-disciplinary Concussion and Brain Injury Center responsible for the evaluation and rehabilitation of patients who have experienced concussions/mTBI or brain injuries. Provide sports and performance vision services, education, and training for those who participate in physically demanding activities including athletes, military, and first responders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. 2. Current or temporary licensure in the state of West Virginia, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed. Permanent licensure obtained within 90 days of hire. 3. Concussion Certified - Carrick Institute or 360 Neuro 4. Certification in Basic Life Support. EXPERIENCE: 1. Five (5) years' experience as an Occupational Therapist.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Master's degree EXPERIENCE: 1. Experience with concussion/brain injury and visual-vestibular function.

  1. Participates in the rehabilitation of post-concussion patients by providing focused treatment of ocular-motor, vestibular, and visual-vestibular integration skills.
  2. Champions the identification, evaluation, and improvement of cost-effective clinical and service quality for concussion/mTBI patients and a mechanism for tracking patient progress through system evaluating patient satisfaction.
  3. Provides internal and external consultation and serves as a resource for education, document development, project management, assessment & treatment of concussion/mTBI patients.
  4. Guides interdisciplinary team members in performance improvement and the incorporation of evidence-based practice protocols into the daily operations of the program.
  5. The Specialist works with community and professional organizations to further community education and awareness about concussion/mTBI prevention and treatment.
  6. Promotes educational programs and materials for patients, family/caregivers, and allied health professionals.
