The Trauma PI Coordinator works in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager (TPM), Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and the interdisciplinary team that participates in the management of care provided to the injured patient. The Trauma PI Coordinator evaluates the quality of trauma care from the prehospital setting to hospital discharge. The Trauma PI Coordinator is responsible for coordination and facilitation of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Program (PIPS) including injury prevention activities, data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes. Participates in trauma registry data collection, data validations, understanding of injury scoring, statistical data analysis, and report design to support outreach, injury prevention and research initiatives. Collaborates with trauma program leadership to ensure compliance with the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Trauma Designation regulations, the American College of Surgeons standards, and the hospital facility quality measures related to Performance Improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN). 2. Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a registered professional nurse OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). 3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. EXPERIENCE: 1. Three (3) years' experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care nursing or Trauma Nursing experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. TNCC instructor. 2. Trauma Certified Registered Nurse Certification. EXPERIENCE: 1. Experience in Quality Improvement and research.
