Atlantic Health System Behavioral Health Clinician in Morristown, New Jersey

Responsible for providing short-term psychotherapeutic services including individual, marital, family and group treatment.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Coordinates and conducts outpatient ECT intakes. Documents succinctly and accurately presenting problems, history of onset and progression of psychiatric features, co-occurring features, relevant medical history, developmental history, current treatment. Identify, document and provide a plan to mitigate specific safety concerns.

  2. Gather collateral information from treatment providers and supports as needed. Coordinate with external treatment providers current status. Document all interactions and information succinctly and accurately.

3 Coordinate and collaborate with ECT nursing regarding clinical and medical aspects of patient care. Establish and review treatment discharge recommendations

  1. Provides clear, accurate and concise reporting on patient symptoms, presentation, medical concerns, medication and collateral/family report to both psychiatric/medical providers and nursing. Actively participates and provides accurate clinical feedback during caseload supervision and departmental meetings.

  2. Demonstrates understanding of patient concerns, dynamics, defenses, and maladaptive thinking, attitudes, behaviors, coping styles. Applies appropriate interventions based upon evidenced based, best practices Assesses/monitors patient progress. Demonstrates knowledge of family, cultural, social, religious factors impacting treatment.

  3. Collaborates with department managers to develop and implement both quality and performance improvement initiatives for the department. Actively participates in program development initiatives. Actively participates in departmental and cross-departmental meetings.

7: Completes all documentation accurately and in the timeframe determined by the department. Completes departmental approved patient screenings and reports out patient outcomes and progression. Documentation reflects patient treatment objectives and plan of care. Completes and maintains required analytics for program and patient treatment.

8.Conducts consistent follow up with patients. Assists with necessary care management needs to ensure desired treatment outcomes.

  1. Complies with Department Business/Administrative requirements. Maintains confidentiality of patient & medical record. Completes schedules, statistics, re-certification information. Maintains accurate & timely record of insurance/managed care data and other such functions. Meets designated productivity standards. Participates in outreach and marketing efforts such as public speaking, participating in local community meetings and initiatives.

  2. Coordinates inpatient ECT transfer requests from other facilities with crisis and the inpatient behavioral health unit.

  3. Provides direct clinical care and support to inpatient medically admitted patients as part of the Consult Liaison Psychiatry Team. Will provide short-term focused therapy and clinical interventions in coordination with psychiatry, medical and nursing teams. Will conduct initial psychiatric interviews for medically admitted patients at the direction of the psychiatric consult service.

Other Tasks Which May be Required: As assigned and discussed by the department, cross departmental coverage

Required:

  1. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology.

  2. Previous clinical or counseling experience.

Preferred:

  1. LCSW, LSW or LAC, LPC license.
