Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a Great Opportunity in Northern New Jersey

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to join our team at North Jersey Thoracic Surgical Associates. This is a nationally ranked, growing service line with an established and expanding practice. The successful candidate will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities at Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, and a satellite location in Clark, NJ. The candidate will work with a team of experienced thoracic surgeons and will be part of a nationally ranked program with a high volume of cases.

Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, diagnostic testing, and medical procedures under the supervision of a physician, assisting in surgical procedures and post-operative care, participating in the development and implementation of patient care plans, providing patient education and support, collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.

  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey

  • ACLS and BLS certification required

  • 1-3 years of surgical experience preferred

  • Open to new graduates

  • Must have excellent communication and computer skills

  • Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
