Vascular Access – Built on a history of innovation, our Arrow® brand of technically advanced vascular access devices are renowned throughout the world. Position Summary
The Clinical Affairs Specialist position is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of internal and external. Activities include, but are not limited to, presentation delivery, comprehensive training plan development, didactic program delivery, objection handling, and solution positioning that supports the safe and effective use of the Teleflex products. This role also develops, and updates educational materials needed in compliance with the Off Label and Promotion Activities Policy and all IPPs.
Principal Responsibilities
Identify and support field sales efforts through clinical and educational customer needs assessment, product and procedural training, in-servicing, and required customer follow-up.
Maintain and develop expertise on Teleflex Medical’s products, with particular emphasis on the product portfolio related to specific clinical specialty area and expertise.
Support the facilitation of the Sale Team training as well as other internal stakeholders on the operation, features, and benefits of Products and technology as well as the appropriate clinical application and the associated disease states requiring the various technologies.
Supports training development and competencies for internal field clinical and sales teams.
Works closely with BU training team to ensure comprehensive training plans and procedural competence is identified, completed and documented for all filed based employees.
Ensures strategic society relationships, partners for support or provides scientific lectures which advance the science of both procedure and product awareness and adoption.
Identify and expand the customer base through professional networking, consultation related to best practices and the appropriate use of Teleflex products, and timely professional follow-up.
Manage all business associated administrative tasks and responsibilities to support job related activities to include strict adherence to the Teleflex Medical T&E policies and procedures, timely filing of required and/or requested reports, and documentation of activities via approved documents and forms.
Keep current with medical literature, clinical initiatives/guidelines, competitive landscape, and industry trends and communicate with sales management, marketing, and other appropriate corporate departments.
Participate in educational, scientific, and promotional activities at identified local, regional, and national tradeshows/exhibitions.
Supports off-label inquires and documents appropriately
Collaborating with Marketing, Sales and Engineering on key projects and initiatives, the CAS utilizes critical thinking skills to collect data, analyze and problem solve, considering a variety of factors, exercising good judgment within defined Teleflex policies, procedures, and practices to determine appropriate action.
Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex Medical’s Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and standards.
Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelors required; Master’s Degree preferred. Equivalent clinical experience will be considered if deemed adequate to perform the duties and responsibilities of Clinical and Medical Affairs. Acceptable credentials include RN/ RRT, APRN, PA, RT, BABC, CRNI.
Possess minimum five years’ experience in the medical device field; and/or clinical practice, Vascular
Access/Ultrasound experience preferred.
Maintain professional and clinical continuing education, licensure, and credentials as applicable for clinical specialty.
Minimum of five years of clinical experience in a hospital, preferably in Critical Care.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
Demonstrated experience managing compliant HCP interactions in line with regional guidelines.
Strong working knowledge of all Teleflex IPPs and CMA Policies.
A minimum of two years of demonstrated managerial skills, resources and budgets.
Previous experience in life science or medical device industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of business, clinical, and employment practices.
Previous experience supporting internal (sales; strategic accounts; management team, etc.) and external customers (physician offices, ASCs, hospital outpatient personnel, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate effective educational and presentation skills in diverse settings from one-on-one to formal large group situations.
Ability to work independently, and as a valued team member.
Proven ability to interact with different specialties within a hospital and deliver complex and technical subject matter to clinicians in the hospital or clinical setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Effective time-management and organizational skills.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 50%
