Xylem Integration Architect in Morrisville, North Carolina

Job Summary:

The Integration Architect is responsible for overall integration architecture of Xylem’s middleware - Xylem Integration Platform (XIP). Responsibilities will include designing and developing new integrations as well as maintaining existing ones, taking part in the rotating production support and writing technical documentation. This role is a member of the Integration Services team and is responsible for developing and maintaining the Xylem Integration Platform.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility of the overall integration architecture, design for the future of XIP

  • Develop, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain integrations built in IBM App Connect Enterprise / ACE, IBM MQ

  • Design, hands-on develop/code, unit test and support user testing of integrations as well as releasing to production.

  • Provide detailed solution design and implementation plan for integrations following Xylem’s integration framework.

  • Be a member of the rotating production support schedule to maintain the production environment and rapidly resolve production issues.

  • Partner with application teams in requirements gathering, designing new integrations according to project requirements and in designing reusable and extensible integration solutions.

  • Perform change management according to prescribed company processes, including migrating changes through testing environments and into the production environment.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for continuous improvements such as reducing complexity, time and cost and increasing performance and effectiveness of the integration solutions.

Key Relationships:

  • External: Consultants and support team/vendors of 3rd party software

  • Internal: IT department, application owners, end users

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 10 years work experience designing and building integrations with a thorough understanding of SOA, micro services

  • Extensive experience of troubleshooting integrations when errors occur and the ability to calmly troubleshoot in high pressure situations, and effectively command control of crisis situations.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated, able to take responsibility, set priorities and translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals and execute projects with minimal oversight.

  • Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed.

  • Extensive knowledge in developing and supporting integrations built with IBM App Connect and IBM MQ

  • Extensive knowledge and hands on coding experience in eSQL, Java or C#

  • Extensive knowledge in reading and understanding XML and performing mapping in XSLT.

  • Extensive knowledge in different message formats such as JSON, flat file etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or knowledge in IBM DataPower

  • Experience in leading and participating in/managing cross-functional projects.

  • Experience in SQL, DB stored procedures.

  • Experience or knowledge in Neuron ESB

Travel requirement:

  • Occasional travel as required by projects to other Xylem sites.
