Description and Requirements

We are seeking a NA Senior Contract Advisor; with the main responsibility of providing pre-award and renewal guidance; involving analysis of external terms and conditions, working with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate on language, and negotiating final terms. Responsibility includes US Commercial and Canada Commercial and Public Sector sales segments for NA IDG and ISG business units.

The Senior Contract Advisor is a key sales partner and serves as the pre-award and renewal point of contact and subject matter expert. The Senior Contract Advisor exercises problem-solving skills to ensure compliance with non-standard terms are captured with Legal, Operations, and Finance teams up front, including the mitigation of risk and ensuring that all elements of the desired agreement are satisfactory to Lenovo and the Customer. The Senior Contract Advisor must be comfortable working with high-ranking customers and internal stakeholders. This individual should be a high performer who understands the complexity of supporting a large sales organization to drive successful relationships between Lenovo and our Customers.

Additionally, this role assists with ensuring agreed to terms are documented and executed per Lenovo processes. A strong candidate will need to showcase problem-solving and long-term interdependent strategy skills. He or she must be able to influence and direct teams to desired outcomes in an efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough review of commercial solicitations, provides guidance and collaborates with sales, pricing, proposals, and all other relevant stakeholders to ensure proper risk mitigation for contract proposals in assigned territory of significant complexity.

  • Negotiates terms and conditions as appropriate, develops mitigating strategies for non-negotiable risk, and assists with the development of the post-award Award Transition

  • Prepares standard and nonstandard legal forms related to proposal submissions including indirect teaming agreements.

  • Coordinates approval of non-standard contractual terms and conditions as necessary.

  • Review and respond to correspondence from customers and internal stakeholders concerning contracts (ranging from simple to complex inquiries).

  • Document approvals and final contracts.

  • Ensure appropriate stakeholders informed and execute agreed to conditions.

  • Follow documented processes for deviations and rebates.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5 years of pre-award contract management experience, preferably in-house with a technology company.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (JD, MBA strongly preferred)

  • Contract Management Certification preferred but not required.

  • Experience with hardware contracts, IP licensing, and technology-adjacent service agreements.

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable commercial business and legal principles and ability to work on diverse contractual issues simultaneously from start to finish.

  • Ability to read, draft, and understand contractual terms.

  • Ability to explain complex contractual, licensing, and other concepts clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences (sales, engineering, finance, product, senior management)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-demand environment.

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Comfort working independently but possessing sound judgment leading to appropriate issue escalation.

  • Comfortable working under pressure/with sense of urgency in a fast paced, deadline-driven business.

  • Comfortable with the ambiguity may exist within highly matrixed organizations.

  • Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.

  • Minimal travel required (less than 10%).

*This is a fully remote role that can be based anywhere in the US.

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $103,200.00 - $137,600.00. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo's various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com
