Robert Half Staff Accountant in Morrisville, North Carolina

Description We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant to become part of our team in the manufacturing industry, located in Morrisville, North Carolina. As a Staff Accountant, your primary role will be to handle customer credit applications, maintain customer records, and address customer inquiries. This role also involves monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate action where necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Handle customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency

• Maintain precise records of customer credit

• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner

• Monitor customer accounts and initiate necessary actions

• Ensure proper verification of sales tax calculations

• Maintain a strong level of competence with QuickBooks and Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups

• Detail-oriented management of payment verification

• Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth accounting process

• Handle accounts payable and receivable duties

• Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger tasks, and journal entries as necessary. Requirements • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role in the manufacturing industry.

• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations.

• Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.

• Advanced competency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Experience in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and journal entries.

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be considered an asset.

• Knowledge and experience with accounts receivables systems.

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
