rrPosition Summary:

r The Biomedical Technology Transfer Intern will play a pivotal role in identifying biomedical inventions within the College of Engineering. This position is designed to bridge the gap between innovative biomedical engineering research and the market, by facilitating the protection and commercialization of intellectual property (IP). The interns efforts will contribute significantly to enhancing the universitys technology transfer initiatives, particularly within the dynamic field of biomedical engineering.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to delve into the intersection of engineering innovation and legal protection, particularly within the burgeoning field of biomedical technology. The intern will gain hands-on experience in technology transfer processes, contribute to the advancement of biomedical innovation, and play a crucial role in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and IP awareness within the College of Engineering.

rrMinimum Qualifications:

r

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student, with a preference for those studying in biological engineering or law.
  • A foundational understanding of intellectual property (IP) rights and the technology transfer process.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with the biomedical engineering community.
  • Strong research and organizational capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.

rrPreferred Qualifications:

  • A major in Biological Engineering or Law, with a strong interest in technology commercialization.
  • Prior experience in educational outreach, particularly in IP rights or technology transfer, within the biomedical field.
  • Familiarity with the College of Engineerings biological research projects and focus areas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
