rrPosition Summary:

rThis position involves keeping our stores looking organized and operating seamlessly.

Duties may include:

  • Overseeing the sales floor
  • Supervising the customer service team
  • Merchandising
  • Handling customer service inquiries
  • Assist with purchasing
  • Opening and closing the store
  • Other duties as assigned

rrMinimum Qualifications:

r

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Work experience that includes:

  • Cash handling
  • Working in a retail environment
  • Operating a personal computer and e-mail software

rrPreferred Qualifications:

r

  • Bachelor\'s degree
  • Work in a college bookstore environment, with general knowledge of all aspects of operations including purchasing, inventory management, retail controls, merchandising and staffing
  • Ability to use and teach customer service skills to ensure that students and customers are happy and able to find what they need
  • High energy, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships and establish credibility with all levels in the organization
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage several projects with multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures
  • Experience with product ordering and flow
  • Familiarity with the University of Idaho campus
  • Experience with MBS
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Bend, stoop, lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
