rrPosition Summary:

r The Department of Theatre is seeking a part-time (20 hrs per week) Costume Shop Assistant for the 24-25 academic year to work in the Hartung Theatre costume shop under the supervision of the Costume Director.

rrMinimum Qualifications:

r

• experience using a sewing machine (industrial and home) and serger (overlock) machine;
• experience following verbal and written sewing instructions;
• experience providing verbal and written sewing instructions;
• supervisory experience

rrPreferred Qualifications:

r

• knowledge of costume history and period garments;
• organizational and cataloguing experience;
• ability to use Excel;
• ability to make patterns from designer renderings;
• ability to plan and execute garment construction from start to finish;
• experience dyeing and painting fabric.
