Diesel Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

An experienced maintenance mechanic with experience maintaining diesel equipment. The primary responsibility is the repair and maintenance of all plant and field equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant and field equipment in operational condition and perform assigned tasks as needed.

  • Collaborate with quality assurance and sanitation departments to meet requirements.

  • Conduct constant walk-throughs of the area, shut lines down as necessary. Interpret company policies and safety regulations. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist others in solving mechanical problems.

  • Coordinate scheduling with personnel to ensure equipment functions properly.

  • Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance technician roles.

  • Proficiency in repair and preventive maintenance.

  • Mechanical skills, including refrigeration.

  • Diesel mechanic experience

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

  • Capacity to stand and walk for a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.

  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and maintain body equilibrium.

  • Strong visual acuity to perceive shapes, sizes, distances, motions, colors, and other characteristics of objects.

Work Environment

The work surface includes concrete and metal platforms. The environment varies in temperature and humidity. Exposure to moderate levels of chemicals, dust, and fumes is expected. Noise levels require hearing protection.
