Summary: JH Kelly has grown into one of the largest industrial mechanical contractors in the Pacific Northwest. Our Industrial Projects encompass everything from building foundations, structural steel, and all types of process and material moving equipment to intricate process piping and instrumentation & control systems. As a self-performing industrial general contractor, we excel at completing complex, multi-craft projects under challenging schedule constraints. The Quality Control Technician implements and supervises the QA/QC programs for assigned project job site(s).
Salary Range: $35-$50 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible).
Key Responsibilities:
Witness and perform onsite inspections
Supervise and validate third-party NDE
Qualify welders and validate craft certifications
Initiate, maintain, and distribute QA/QC documentation and records
Perform receiving inspection and notification
Supervise the control of measuring and testing equipment
Identifies and facilitates correction of non-conformances
Facilitates internal quality audits
Maintains Welding Logs and continuity reporting
Maintains a positive working relationship with JHK shop, field personnel, and 3rd party NDE Authorized Inspectors
Has stop work authority
Experience / Qualifications:
Current CWI and Visual Acuity Certifications
Industrial industry experience
Must have experience working in refinery environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of refinery-specific QA/QC processes and safety protocols.
Fluent in structural steel and mechanical equipment.
Experience reading Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Isometric, plan view, and drawings preferred.
Administer ASME and NBIC Code requirements, Code Work
Training and experience levels consistent with qualifications per SNT-TC-1A
Perform ASME section IX & D1.1 welder qualifications and testing
5 years of Quality Control experience
Must possess a valid TWIC card to access and work in secured refinery locations.
Necessary Skills:
Fully proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam, with intermediate skills in Excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative.
Organized and productive with the ability to prioritize workload.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand.
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
Must have a valid driver's license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, heights, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, and noise
Constant computer, tablet, and cell phone use
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
The employee is frequently required to sit; walk; stand and use hands
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch
Ability to drive an automobile and a valid driver’s license
Experience operating MEWP’s for accessing works to be inspected
Experience using fall protection
