What You'll Do:

  • Convey materials from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.

  • Sort and place materials on pallets and in designated rows according to predetermined sequence such as hybrid.

  • Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets for loads.

  • Mark materials with identifying information tags.

  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

  • Load and unload trucks of bagged seed.

  • Deliver or pick up seed with designated trucks including semi where class A CDL is needed.

  • Maintain electronic driver log according to DOT regulations and company policy.

  • Assist distribution department with paperwork and crib sheets as needed.

  • Involved in seed rework duties as needed.

  • Maintain trucks, forklifts and other equipment including checking oil and other fluid levels and filling out necessary documentation.

  • Be an active member of the site safety program.

  • Assist with plant Housekeeping Practices.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • Class A CDL

  • Forklift certificate. On site training available.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • DOT Medical examiners certificate (Drivers physical)

  • Use and knowledge of pallet jacks is required. If farm equipment is not available some manual unloading may be necessary.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • The lifting requirement for this job is limited to 65 pounds. Any lifting over 65 pounds is to be maneuvered by two or more workers and/or mechanical means (i.e. dolly, pallet jack, forklift, etc.), as appropriate. To operate a forklift, employee must be certified.

  • Willing and able to work overtime/weekends/holidays when needed
