The Athletic Director is responsible for the oversight, planning, compliance, coaching staff management, and direction of the College's athletic programs. The AD provides leadership for the athletic programs with a high level of integrity and fosters an environment of academic success and athletic excellence. The AD works with internal and external constituents to advance the program and works with coaches and staff who are committed not only to winning but to the personal development of student-athletes and to compliance with the rules.

This position will remain open until filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by July 22, 2024. The College reserves the right to close the recruitment process once a sufficient applicant pool has been identified.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the athletic program including planning, travel, purchasing, scheduling, programming, publicity, recruiting, discipline, procedures, fundraising and other athletic issues.

Ensure compliance with all NJCAA and MCCAA rules and regulations.

Coordinate and implement all stages of the NJCAA eligibility process. Build student files that comply with NJCAA regulations and submit student-athlete information in a timely manner to ensure continued compliance.

Develop a variety of student services and programs - such as student-athlete retention, academic tracking, and health and safety -- that enhance the experience at Mid.

Hire, supervise, and evaluate coaches and staff. Process contracts and payroll paperwork.

Develop annual athletics department budget; review and control expenditures.

Attend athletic home events/competitions and act as the game administrator, or be responsible for designating a game administrator.

Serve as the liaison with community, state and conference organizations related to athletics. Attend meetings of the MCCAA and the regional NJCAA athletic directors.

Coordinate the student-athlete recruitment and enrollment process, working with coaches and Student Services and adhering to the NJCAA guidelines.

Maintain assessment reports, records, eligibility, athletic statistics, and academic progress reports for student athletes (i.e., student achievement, student satisfaction, and graduation rates).

Explore and promote community service projects and other opportunities for student/staff involvement.

Work with the Mid Foundation Office to plan and implement athletic promotions and fundraising to support athletic programs.

Compile information and statistics for federal reporting on athletic program support and participation rate, and ensure that required reports are completed in a timely manner to maintain continued compliance.

Review and write policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effective operations. Develop associated forms and workflows to promote efficient operations.

Oversee Mid's athletic facilities (updates, maintenance, equipment, etc.) and schedule the use of facilities for internal and external use.
