Siemens Energy Machinist- 1st shift (7:30am - 4:00pm, Mon. - Fri.) in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania

A Snapshot of Your Day

Layout, design and fabrication of tools, fixtures and equipment including testing/refurbishment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Follow all safety regulations/policies and wear proper personal protective equipment.

  • Operate manual and/or CNC machinery including but not limited to lathes, mills, grinders, drill press etc…

  • Develop design concepts, layout components, identify/specify material requirements, machine components, modify, repair, assemble and test a wide range of tooling fixtures and equipment.

  • Perform hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair refurbishment and upgrade of major tooling and equipment, including specification and manufacturing/procurement of required replacement parts.

  • Provide machining/drilling/cutting tool expertise in support of the tool crib.

  • Develop/document inspection, test and repair procedures for tooling and equipment.

  • Prepare records documenting tool testing, maintenance, and repair.

  • Determine minimum stocking levels for key repair parts, raw material, and other machining supplies.

  • Recommend and implement tooling improvements and upgrades to enhance reliability and effectiveness in their field applications.

  • Consult with field and project personnel regarding selection, field setup and application of tooling.

  • Interacts as needed with both internal and external customers and supply vendors.

  • Work with engineering on drawing improvements and documentation of enhancements.

  • Maintain clean and organized work area.

  • Perform other related duties, including tasks associated with lower labor grade positions, as directed.

What You Bring

  • Journeyman certified or a min of 10 years of equivalent machining experience.

  • Advanced training and knowledge in machine shop practices, including use of machine tools, shop math and interpretation of design drawings/blueprints.

  • Capable and demonstrated ability to use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers etc.)

  • Intermediate level of computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

  • Capable of using measuring instruments, hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to work on own initiative with moderate levels of direct supervision.

  • Some overtime including weekend work may be necessary depending on needs of the business.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
