Hitachi Energy Project Management Office Manager - SAMURAI in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania

Reference #: R0060727 General Information: Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Project Management Office Lead to support the Overall Project Director on a key expansion project for its Mount Pleasant, PA location. This role will be responsible for the overall PMO coordination, supporting the Project Director in leading the on-time and on-budget completion of all the project work packages, and a key resource in leading the project management team made up of 7 project managers from cross operating unit project teams, functions, Real Estate, facility management and other functional teams, as well as supporting in several discussions with other stakeholders such as, government officials, consultants, other contractors and agents, to support the successful implementation of the project.

Your Responsibilities: Leads the project team made up of 6 or 7 project managers who will be in the lead of Work Packages and associated Work Package teams, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks, milestones and defined Kpis. Leads and closely interacts with Real Estate project management, who is in control of building construction, contractor work, scheduling, resource utilization, permitting status, budget for Real Estate related items, etc. for all building and real estate construction related work. Provides performance feedback regarding allocated resources working on projects. Defines, jointly with the Project Controls and acts as the leader for the work packages project managers. Defines all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule, and risk management plans. Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy policies and processes. Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization throughout all project phases. Coordinates with all subcontractors, architects, Real Estate, State of PA, Government officials, consultants, etc., on any topics pertaining to the project. Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow. Identifies, qualifies, quantifies, and manages project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Captures, analyzes, and shares lessons learned throughout the project. Ensures that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by all stakeholders. Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements. Coordinates with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procures required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Supports Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes. Acts as key contact for the Overall Project Director, steering committee and leadership team. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all. Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, quality, environmental, security, delivery, and cost policies, as well as local regulations. Responsible for implementation of the project while achieving all defined Kpis. Your Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering highly preferred and 10+ years of experience in project management or project engineering of complex engineering, or construction, building property related projects. Must have strong English communication skills and presentation skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to lead project teams and work package project managers towards successful execution while establishing trust-base relationships across all other internal and external collaborators. Must be proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Notes, etc). Must have strong knowledge of SAP. Must have demonstrated experience in negotiation skills. Highly prefer PMP certification OR Hitachi Energy Project Manager Certification. Experience with switchgear technology is a huge plus. Highly prefer experience with Power Distribution/ Utility Electrical products. Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
