AIRCO - Facility Maintenance Job Description: Responsible for infrastructure and building maintenance to keep facility operating and repairing any problems upon discovery before they have a chance to worsen. Performs a wide range of repair tasks around the facility.

 

Duties: Performs some or all of the following:

 

  1. Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage. For example but not limited to: window, door or wall repair, repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures, Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
  2. Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
  3. Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  4. Manage building systems operations, preventive maintenance and repair to ensure all systems are operating at maximum efficiency and any structural or equipment problem or malfunction is promptly resolved to minimize program disruption
  5. Establish and maintain a work order system to prioritize and assign work.
  6. Schedule, observe and inspect work to ensure that maintenance and repairs are timely and properly performed.
  7. Manage staff and contractors who provide maintenance, testing and repair services
  8. Determine the need for and acquire supplies, materials and equipment.
  9. Identify and ensure recommended solutions are implemented to promptly resolve any structural, environmental, or equipment problems or malfunctions.

     

Education/Credentials: High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years building maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

 

Specific Skills:

  • Must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who is self-directed and capable of operating without direct supervision
  • Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand OEM and non-OEM documentation, schematics, drawings, and manuals and use catalogs, manuals, and the Internet to source repair parts.
  • Must be able to schedule and perform the repairs and organize the efficient completion of work orders in a timely fashion.
