Summary

Maintain, service, and perform repairs on equipment in order to ensure proper operation of production equipment and electrical systems.

This position has a target wage of $24.52 per hour with negotiated increases and is eligible for comprehensive benefits.

Schedule: 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and understand manufacturers' equipment manuals, preventative (PM) task sheets, and safety policies

  • Perform equipment adjustments and repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency breakdown repairs

  • Perform specific duties during both production and non-production hours in a timely manner with OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations

  • Monitor performance of equipment and inform maintenance and production supervisors of potential issues

  • Maintain log books by applying math skills through the equipment PM stages in order to calibrate machinery to performance standards

  • Provide "hands on" training and direction to lower level mechanics and techs in properly servicing, repairing and maintaining the equipment operated by the Company

  • Adhere to all safety rules including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and process Safety Management related matters

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in maintenance

  • Reading, writing, and analytical skills are required

  • Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine

  • May need to move equipment occasionally

  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment

  • Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required

  • When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (28 - 100 degrees Fahrenheit)

  • Humidity (0-100%)

  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Noise (50db. - 110db.)

  • May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in a poultry processing facility

  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company

  • Able to stand for several hours

  • Work may include lifting (up to 50lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly
