Google Imaging Systems Engineer, Devices and Services in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience working in an image sensor or camera technology related technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

  • Experience designing and testing camera hardware systems, and with image capture and analysis using CCD or CMOS sensors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).

  • Experience with software development in a scripting language (e.g., Matlab or Python).

  • Experience with innovation and problem solving for imaging solutions.

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: Optical simulation, Camera calibration, ISP pipelines, computer vision algorithms, computational photography.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As an Imaging Systems Engineer in the Tech Engineering team, you will contribute to designing and developing camera systems and applications for consumer hardware. You will work alongside hardware and software teams to develop camera technology. The team's mission is to drive the research and development of new hardware-centric imaging technologies relating to sensor selection and introduction of new sensor modalities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Research mobile imaging applications through design, analysis, simulation, as well as experimental validation.

  • Write simulation and processing code in Matlab, Python, and C++.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Optics, Sensors, Calibration, Application Processor/Silicon, Research, and Android Software.
