Who we are

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) - Mission Technologies is seeking an Industrial Security Analyst to support the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) in Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate for this role will support all DIU personnel for security needs while supporting the DIU site security needs for the SCIF and site access and visits. This position is on-site in Mountain View, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personnel security (PERSEC) support for DIU.

  • Provide Visitor Access Request (VAR) management and support.

  • Schedule Special Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrination briefings with approved personnel.

  • Maintain Personnel files IAW DIU policy and procedures.

  • Coordinate and maintain the accuracy of program billet rosters.

  • Provide Personnel Clearance (PCL) Management Support.

  • Facilitate adverse/required reporting actions as required.

  • SCIF Open & Closure.

  • SCIF Access Availability.

  • Process VARs and maintain logs of all incoming visitors.

  • Update and maintain program Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Conducting annual internal inspections and document inventories.

  • Manage and execute the on and off-boarding personnel from the program, including briefing and debriefing, requesting appropriate badges and system accesses.

  • Process and manage program personnel and potential candidates through Defense Information System for Security (DISS) for initial and periodic investigations.

  • Conduct preliminary inquiries into security infractions and violations.

  • Conduct physical security assessments using Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) Technical specifications.

  • Coordinate and communicate the facilities security posture with the sponsoring agency.

  • Advise the program management on any required modifications to existing or new secure facilities.

  • Work outside of regular duty hours may be required to support exercises and other events; must be flexible to support the customer.

  • Provide SCIF Operations Briefing to newly SCI indoctrinated personnel.

  • Maintain an updated SCIF Access Roster.

  • Activate and deactivate SCIF Access Badges for authorized SCIF Users.

  • Provide support to DIU IT by creating JWICS and SIPR network account requests and ensuring that SCIF Users are issued JWICS and SIPR network accounts.

  • Provide support to DIU IT to delete JWICS and SIPR network accounts once SCIF Users depart DIU.

  • Provide support to DIU related to Telecommunications Electronics Material Protected from Emanating Spurious Transmissions (TEMPEST) evaluations conducted by TEMPEST Approval Authorities.

  • Other duties as assigned by DIU.

What you need to have:

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

  • Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility required and current within the last five years.

  • In-depth knowledge of DISS and National Industrial Security System (NISS).

  • Ability to constructively engage and resolve challenging situations.

  • Available to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand.

  • Independent self-starter, proactive, and professionally assertive.

  • Practical oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • US Citizen.

Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).

  • Experience with program and SOP development for growing organizations.
