Google Modem Performance Analyst, Pixel in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in 3GPP wireless (e.g., WCDMA, LTE, NR), including PHY/upper layers 5G modem log analysis.

  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects.

  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Experience with physical/upper layers 4G modem log analysis to identify performance/KPI gaps.

  • Experience with 3GPP physical layer, L2, L3, NAS specification.

  • Experience summarizing log findings for follow up discussion with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience programming in Python and development.

In this role, you will build the next generation cellular modem software/firmware for Pixel phone, tablet, and devices. You will work on technologies, such as 4G/5G across protocol stacks and enable Android ecosystem development.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Be the technical lead for driving/planning of aimed field activities to help identify and analyze performance gaps.

  • Analyze field logs and issues from both the performance and user experience perspective.

  • Work with engineers in the field and travel or visit fields to help field campaigns as needed.

  • Work cross-functionally with other organizations (e.g., modem systems, modem software, radio frequency, upper layers) to discuss potential issues.

  • Perform device analysis and provide clear
