Google Product Manager II, Google Home Automation in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.

  • Experience in the smart home or home automation industry.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.

  • 3 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).

  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.

  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.

  • Possess a technical background with an understanding of software development principles.

  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As an Automation Product Manager for Google Home, you will be behind a truly proactive and intelligent home. Your mission is to evolve Google Home's automation capabilities, not just as a feature within the Google Home App, but as a platform enabling seamless, personalized automation experiences for both Google and third-party partners.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop a multi-year product strategy for Google's automation platform, shaping the future of how users interact with and automate their smart homes.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure integration and adoption of Google's automation platform.

  • Advocate a developer and user-centric approach, incorporating user research and feedback to inform the development of intuitive and delightful automation features.

  • Partner with analytics teams to establish key performance indicators (KPIs), measure success, and drive data-driven improvements to the platform.

  • Work with engineering, design, product planning, marketing, and business development teams to bring the automation platform to life.
