Google Program Manager III, Should Cost Analyst, Platforms and Devices in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.

  • 5 years of experience in commodity sourcing, design for excellence, or cost estimation for enclosures, cameras, displays, or other components.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in commodity sourcing, Design for excellence, or cost estimation for enclosures, cameras, displays, or other components.

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback for engineering, supporting supplier negotiations, and reviewing supplier quotes.

  • Knowledge of consumer electronic component manufacturing processes, with the ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs based on part drawings.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently solve problems with data.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Within the Devices and Services Product Group (DSPG), the Global Sourcing and Intelligence Operations organization is responsible for delivering on cost, supply, and quality for consumer hardware products. As a member of the team, you will partner with Global Supply Managers to develop, implement, and refine cost modeling capabilities for the DSPG. In this role you will have an opportunity to shape how product teams launch and define products, drive efficiencies across a global operations team, and onboard new capabilities necessary to address top issues gating productivity and business growth.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Highlight opportunities to increase models, and influence changes to improve standardization across the organization for commodities.

  • Utilize industry knowledge, analytics, and competitive market data to recommend standardized assumptions to be used in cost estimations.

  • Evaluate the organization's data ecosystem to identify key input gaps and take initiative to source and integrate new data sets to support cost modeling capabilities.

  • Conduct simulations to pressure test cost estimates provided by sourcing managers, challenging assumptions, and identifying potential areas for cost reduction.

  • Present insights and recommendations to leadership teams.
