Intuit Staff Data Scientist in Mountain View, California

Overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the AI Research team at Intuit. In this role you will

be working on improving the performance of our latest algorithms through efficient code and

algorithmic optimizations that will lead to successful tech transfers of the latest research

innovations to products. We are looking for people with solid engineering skills, writing

bug-free machine learning code, experience formulating and running experiments, and

building the science behind the algorithms employed. We expect the data scientist to

contribute to all steps of the research and development lifecycle: from conceptualization, to

applied research, engineering for optimized inference, and deployment in various capacities.

As a data scientist on the team, you will interact with internal researchers, as well as our

partners in the product teams to define, analyze, and implement highly optimized algorithms

in generative AI, uncertainty quantification, reinforcement learning, recommendation

systems, and natural language understanding. The scope of these efforts includes a

combination of implementing new algorithms, performance tuning and analysis, integration

and testing.

What you'll bring

Understanding of modern techniques in Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, and Optimization

  • Passion for staying updated on the latest research in AI.

  • Ability to iterate fast on lots of ideas.

  • Experience with developing and debugging in Python with Tensorflow, Pytorch, or similar frameworks

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a dynamic and distributed team.

  • A desire to constantly grow and learn new things.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals - algorithms and data structures, computational complexity, parallel and distributed computing, system software.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

How you will lead

  • Collaborating with research scientists to innovate in relevant topics to develop advanced capabilities that serve our customers’ needs, both current and future.

  • Understanding the research implementations and working with engineering teams across all of Intuit to ensure our software integrates seamlessly up and down the stack
