Google Strategic Partner Development Manager, Payments in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.

  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.

  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

  • Experience working in the payments industry, or with payments-related products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working for an e-commerce provider/e-commerce merchant managing providers that enable identity verification services, fraud services, or payment processing.

  • Strong understanding of operating rules, regulations, and key contracting terms related to payment acceptance processes and supporting services (e.g., identity verification, KYC).

  • Ability to digest complex business and technical requirements to evaluate new opportunities and assess impacts to cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence and communicate internally within Google and externally as an advocate for Google with all levels of management at our partners.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Google’s payment platform enables billions of commerce transactions for internal Google products (e.g., AdWords, Google Play, YouTube, Google Cloud, etc.). Google's Payments Partnership team builds partnerships with third-party solutions to enable secure, efficient, and reliable commerce experiences across all Google products.

As a Strategic Development Partner Manager, you will work closely with various teams to assess, onboard, and manage these solutions, representing Google at industry forums to share best practices and market insights.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Be directly responsible for managing partners providing payment processing and/or ancillary payment services.

  • Lead Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and discussions for partner selection.

  • Be the ultimate point of contact for resolving complex partner escalations across different categories (e.g., financial, operational, technical, regulatory, etc.).

  • Drive partner improvements based on scorecards, metrics, and assessments.

  • Define and drive partner strategy to support industry trends and Googles’ product roadmap.
