Description We are in search of an Accounting Assistant to join our team in Mystic, Connecticut. As an Accounting Assistant, your primary role will be to assist in the daily operations of the finance department, including data entry, payroll processing, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and accounts payable management. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the operation of the finance department by entering data for accounts payable

• Ensure accurate data entry for the payroll process and provide necessary HR support

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy

• Review and verify the accuracy of all expense accounts on the operating statement

• Generate accounts payable checks and manage vendor accounts effectively

• Apply knowledge of accounting functions and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

• Conduct bank reconciliations as part of auditing procedures

• Handle accounts receivable tasks as required. Requirements • Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Proven experience in various accounting functions

• Expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Extensive knowledge in performing auditing tasks

• Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations
