Trinity Health Food and Nutrition Shift Lead Full-Time Mixed Shift in Nampa, Idaho

Position Purpose:

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, ID is looking for a motivated Shift Lead to join the Nampa Food and Nutrition Services Department.

This position monitors and mentors the staff responsible for storing, preparing, and serving food for patients, catered functions, staff and visitors in various areas of the Food and Nutrition Services Department. They also ensure that safe food handling practices, sanitation and organization standards are being met.

Position Highlights and Benefits:

  • Schedule Information: This position will be scheduled for 40 hours a week. Shifts may include weekends, weekdays or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1 year of experience in hospital food service preferred. Experience in front-line supervision desirable.

  • Must be Serv-Safe or comparably certified in HACCP processes.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensures that meals being sent to patients are complete, accurate and compliant according to diet orders and patient’s requests.

  • Ensures proper food preparation and storage habits of all food items using accepted HACCP and UNICODE practices.

  • Provides for staffing coverage due to call ins and short staffing situations.

  • Assists with inventory and ordering as trained and directed.

  • Responsible for the completion of tasks assigned to employees in direct area or shift of responsibility.

  • Works as a collaborative member of the team.

  • Competency in basic literacy skills including reading, oral and written communication and basic math skills required.

  • Able to effectively function in Room Service Choice and Tray Tracker software programs.

  • Demonstrated understanding of basic nutrition/diet guidelines.

  • Must be able to operate all equipment used in food preparation.

  • Must be able to disassemble and reassemble all kitchen equipment.

  • Demonstrates the ability to operate, including, dismantling and cleaning, of all equipment relevant to specific work area.
