Description

As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will be a critical leader responsible for maintaining and optimizing our high-volume dairy manufacturing plants. This advanced role requires a blend of technical expertise and engineering insight to perform complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic controls tasks, oversee preventative maintenance programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will also mentor junior technicians and contribute to strategic maintenance planning with minimal supervision.

Duties:

·Advanced Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on dairy and cheese production machinery, including advanced thermoforming and high-precision equipment. Leverage expert knowledge to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety.

·Technical Leadership in Maintenance Functions:Demonstrate superior expertise across multiple advanced maintenance functions, such as Electricity, Electronics/PLC, Plumbing, Mechanical, Machine Shop, Millwright, Welding, Boilers, Refrigeration, and Pneumatics/Hydraulics. Provide mentorship and training to junior staff to elevate overall team performance.

·Preventive Maintenance Strategy:Design and implement preventive maintenance schedules and protocols for critical machinery. Utilize predictive maintenance tools and data analytics to anticipate and address equipment issues before they impact production.

·Engineering Support:Collaborate with engineering teams on the design, modification, and optimization of production equipment and systems. Support process improvement initiatives by applying engineering principles to enhance machinery ergonomics and efficiency.

·System Calibration and Programming:Expertly program and calibrate Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs, chart recorders, temperature controllers, and flow meters. Ensure all systems are tuned to deliver optimal performance and comply with industry standards.

·Safety and Compliance:Lead efforts to maintain a safe working environment. Uphold strict adherence to health and safety protocols, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards.

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

Experience:

· A minimum of 3+ years of advanced maintenance experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment, preferably within the dairy, food, or beverage industry.

· Extensive experience with thermoformingandor high-speed automated equipment is highly desirable.

Specialized Knowledge:

· Proficiency in interpreting and applying complex technical instructions and engineering blueprints.

· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and maintenance management software such as Maximo.

· Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional teams, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and technical innovation.

· Proven ability to design, modify, and implement advanced maintenance and engineering solutions, contributing to plant efficiency and reliability.
