We have an exciting new role with a local non-profit looking for their next Senior Staff Accountant! This role is based in the Napa, California area and is a permanent employment opportunity that is not to be missed! Apply today with Robert Half!

Responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth operations for cash, AR and AP. Daily monitoring of checking account balances and cash receipt activity including checks, e-deposits, wire transfers, ACH deposits. Oversight of cash deposits and AR. AP bill review and approval, co-signing checks, processing wire, ACH, and online payment transactions.

• Prepare journal entries, bank account reconciliations, balance sheet account balances and reconciliations, sales and room tax reports and process tax payments.

• Prepare accounting corrections as needed.

• Coordinate monthly close cycle, print financial statements for CFO or Controller review and distribute monthly reports to various departments.

• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedule, prepare fixed asset journal entries, and verify accuracy with general ledger.

• Support other departments in activity reporting and accounting, including project and accounts receivable tracking.

• Assist Controller with annual audit including preparation of audit work papers as assigned, provide requested information and backup documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

• GAAP Accounting experience required

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and ERP experience desired

• Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

• Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

• 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
