Job Summary

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, and supporting staff within a designated department or clinical area. This role involves overseeing workflows, managing resources, and fostering collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for clinical inquiries, process improvements, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates daily clinical operations, including patient flow, resource allocation, and staff assignments, to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.

  • Supports clinical staff by providing guidance, addressing concerns, and assisting with complex patient care situations.

  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate care plans, ensuring alignment with patient needs and departmental goals.

  • Assists in onboarding and training new clinical staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.

  • Maintains accurate documentation related to patient care, clinical activities, and quality measures as required.

  • Serves as a liaison between clinical staff, physicians, patients, and families to facilitate communication and resolve concerns.

  • Ensures the availability and proper use of equipment, supplies, and resources needed for patient care.

  • Participates in emergency response planning and execution, supporting staff and patients during critical situations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting required

  • 1-2 years of prior experience in a coordination role preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to oversee complex patient care situations.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration among interdisciplinary teams.

  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for addressing operational challenges.

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies, and quality improvement practices.

  • Ability to train, mentor, and support clinical staff in adhering to best practices and standards.

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required

  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
