Job Title: Cytotechnologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cytotechnologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing fluids, preparing specimens for cytology screening, and assisting with various procedures. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to use pertinent information systems effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform processing of fluids and prepare specimens for cytology screening.

  • Screen specimens as required and assist with EBUS and FNA adequacy procedures.

  • Maintain confidentiality and understand legal/regulatory requirements related to the release of information.

  • Perform and document actions taken according to department procedures.

  • Utilize manual techniques for processing specimens and choose proper processing methodology based on specific tests requested.

  • Prepare smears of fluids and utilize proper techniques involved in routine staining.

  • Ensure accurate patient identification and carry out laboratory testing requests appropriately.

  • Utilize laboratory, hospital, and other computer systems relevant to the job.

  • Understand the scope of laboratory services and assist hospital staff with specimens and tests.

  • Follow departmental procedures for reporting patient results and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Be flexible in scheduling to meet department needs.

  • Support departmental activities to ensure operational and salary expenses are within budget.

  • Seek opportunities for process improvements and enhance job skills.

  • Review and act on reports as required by the position.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience preferred

  • Licensed as a Cytotechnologist (CT) in the State of Florida

  • Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data, etc.

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite at Unit 202, Naples, FL. The position offers medical benefits on Day 1, with dental and vision coverage starting after 90 days. Employees are eligible for pay increases and shift differentials, including an additional $5.00/hr starting at 7pm and a weekend differential of $2.00/hr. Employees accrue PTO starting on Day 1 and can take PTO after 90 days. The company observes 6 holidays, with time and a half pay for working on holidays. Relocation assistance may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $76377.60 - $100817.60

Medical Benefits begin on Day 1 and can add a spouse or children at that time. Dental and vision begin after 90 days. Matching 401(k) at 1 year anniversary of 4% as long as they are contributing at least 6%.PTO is based on hours worked. Employees start accruing PTO on Day 1 and can take PTO after 90 days. Most 40 hour/week employees will have 21 – 22 days of PTO at the end of their first year.NCH observes 6 holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas. If an hourly employee works on a holiday they are paid time and a half. If they do not work on a Holiday then they need to use PTO to be paid for the day.Relocation assistance can be considered on a case-by-case basis
