Covenant Health CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE in Nashua, New Hampshire

Summary

The Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for supporting the operations of the clinical support staff and related functions. Works in collaboration with the Integrated Medical Group (IMG) leadership team, including the Practice Operations Manager and the Director, IMG Nursing Services, to ensure appropriate communication and efficiency occurs between all disciplines. Promotes and provides professional nursing care to patients in a caring and compassionate manner. Leads and educates the clinical team in providing evidence-based patient care following established standards and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.

  • Participates in the interviewing, onboarding, orientation and training of new clinical staff in collaboration with IMG leadership.

  • Assists with oversight of clinical competency completion and adherence.

  • Maintains clinical scheduling and timekeeping.

  • Acts as practice point person in absence of Practice Operations Manager.

  • Evaluates and conducts performance appraisals for clinical support staff in collaboration with IMG leadership.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of current workflows and represents the department with suggested improvements for changes to enhance achievement of practice objectives to optimize patient flow, communication and follow up care.

  • Performs clinical duties of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) as required depending on the variable needs of the practice.

  • Conducts and documents clinical staff meetings.

  • Introduces new workflows, clinical procedures and policies to clinical support staff.

  • Audits documentation compliance of clinical support staff.

  • Performs or delegates required quality controls, test controls and proficiency testing.

  • Demonstrates collaboration among the IMG practice network to ensure all practices have adequate coverage and support.

  • Assists IMG Leadership Team with performance improvement plans and progressive discipline as needed and mentors staff for self-improvement.

  • Accountable for patient safety and quality outcomes.

  • Attends IMG leadership meetings and clinical councils/committees as needed to assess standard of practice and to disseminate professional practice information.

  • Collaborates with other members of the interdisciplinary team, identifies and implements patient care initiatives that support the highest quality of care delivered.

  • Incorporates evidenced-based practice into clinical care delivered by self and others.

  • Actively participates in department huddles and communicates the results of the organization’s daily safety huddle.

  • Is visible, accessible, and committed to communicating effectively with staff.

  • Maintains compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Other duties as consistent with this role.

    *For Specialty Practices: Performs appointment scheduling, procedure and/or surgery scheduling related activities based on department including ambulatory clinics in both IMG and HOD.

    Education and Experience

  • Licensed in the State of New Hampshire as an RN or LPN required

  • BLS/CPR, AED Certification required

  • 3+ years of physician practice nursing experience preferred

  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

    An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.

    Rate of pay: 38.70
