Job Summary and Qualifications

The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Financial Reporting, and performs a broad range of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities within the Accounting department, including month-end close, financial ad hoc analysis, stat reporting, and oversight of inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.

What you will do in this role:

Month End Close, Financial Ad Hoc Analysis, Stat Reporting, Inventory Oversight, Accounts Receivable/ Payable Process Data analysis of vendor and/or customer purchase histories

  • Reviews and prepare journal entries and coordinates month-end close process.

  • Oversees inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes for multiple lines of business.

  • Review and approve third party invoices.

  • Review and approve monthly account reconciliations.

  • Performs COID reviews using misc. reporting, Business Objects (BOBJ), SMART, and Host GL during month end to ensure accounts are properly stated.

  • Prepares customer and line of business margin analysis, researching and correcting any identified issues.

  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the general ledger, inventory, billing, and accounts payable systems used for completion of queries and other ad hoc reporting for both accounting and other internal/external departments. Conduct training of other departments and users on system functionality and capabilities.

  • Develops and implements automation of certain manual processes to improve department efficiency.

  • Serves as conduit between internal departments as well as internal/external audit functions.

  • Full supervisory responsibility of two-three direct reports with direct responsibility and ownership of multiple key controls.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products Required

  • Proficiency in SAP Business Objects (BI Platform) Preferred

  • Experience with database application and add-ins Required

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of business processes Required

  • Knowledge of cost accounting concepts and ability to analyze trends in a warehousing/manufacturing environment Preferred

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to varied audiences Required

  • Ability to prioritize needs and effectively manages resources Required

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting, required

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in staff supervision, preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant Preferred
